I used to think rush fees were just vendors gouging customers. Then I saw the operational reality of expedited service. When you skip due diligence to save a few thousand dollars, you're gambling your time, your budget, and your reputation with the people who trust you to make sound decisions.

The $30,000 mistake I made is a permanent reminder: the vendor who can't provide proper documentation will cost you more than the premium for a reliable partner. CATL isn't the only good battery manufacturer in the world. But they've earned their reputation by being boringly consistent. And in procurement, boring is beautiful.
